Intel needs to rename NUC to OUC especially with it lack of security features and Windows 11 support?

Note: OUC – old unit of computing?

If you don’t want to be tracked by the man you shouldn’t use a smartphone (iphone or Android), actually you shouldn’t even be using a flip phone because now they track you as well. You shouldn’t be using Windows or a mac. You should only use Linux on a computer and go back to having a landline.

That’s right, helcatm. If all of this minspec and Microsoft account stuff infuriates you, switch to Linux. And get a Pinephone (although you have to use one the the usual providers and they track you).

I know people are going to actively complain about the required microsoft account, but I know 2 less than tech savvy people who would have been saved a lot of headache if OneDrive was automatically backing up their documents by default.

Particularly with home users, I think this would be a huge quality of life improvement for everyone who isn’t actively spending $5 a month on backblaze.

I guess counter point to this would be that if people don’t have good password hygiene you may be exposing them to sensitive data leaks when they don’t realize their documents are in the cloud and potentially easier to hack. Reminds me of that kid in college that joined the file sharing network and accidentally shared some private videos.

Right. It’s definitely safer for many reasons.

To avoid an online account while installing Windows 11 Home without internet connection, press Alt+F4 to skip the screen. Then it is possible to create a local account.
