Fun fact: Brad’s 7900X CPU is a Skylake-X – so technically 6th gen, but sold as 7th. CPUs with (basically) the same architecture were also sold as 9th gen. Intel’s marketing really really messed up the 6th to 9th gen stuff. Any differentiation between these seems totally arbitrary.

Agreed. Intel has done slow rollouts of new chip generations that can span several months, and sometimes they’ll even do a "refresh" or an update of the current line.

Agreed, the CPU requirements are VERY arbitrary!! On the AMD side, My Ryzen 5 1500X-4 core, 8 threads, 8 GB memory, has TPM 2.0, secure boot and virtualization enabled, and is running the Insider Preview quite fine!!
