I always thought the Windows CE meant Windows - Compact Edition - intended to be used on small devices (in today's parlance, we'd call them IOT devices).

CE didn't really target IoT-like devices. It was for mobile devices on which Windows wouldn't run well.

So I wasn't hearing things when I heard that child's voice coming out of my speakers. Thought maybe at first it was coming from our TV upstairs.

I went from Dreamcast to Xbox. Funny, I always thought if Microsft had enabled Office on the Xbox One, they'd have a hit in the small office arena with inexpensive machines being able to author and save documents to the cloud. There is so much right and wrong with that idea.
