  <p>Paul sounds like he’s in a box. I think he’d do better with a Blu mic. We use those extensively for our home broadcasters and they have different modes to address most scenarios. I notice Brad is already using one.</p>

  <p>I got myself one of the new USB-C Microsoft Modern Speakerphone devices the other day, mainly because the rattling sound the tinny speakers in my laptop makes is annoying (me) in Teams meetings.</p><p>It’s just a speaker and microphone that sits on the desk out of view. It’s also very portable.</p><p>The sound is very good, and the device seems very solid and good quality.</p><p>Working from home, where no one knows I have it, Teams conversations are clearer. People I talk to a lot are saying it sounds better, unprompted. Then again, my laptop, like most laptops, didn’t have great audio. Perhaps laptops are simply too thin do do it right.</p>

  <p>Interesting about the messaging bit. WhatsApp is cross platform and widely used in the UK. All phones, desktop app and webapp. Problem solved.</p><p><br></p><p>If you are happy for non headphone calls, the Jabra 410/510 is awesome.</p>
