The place I see for partners, moving forward, is in putting together all the pieces of the Microsoft puzzle for the SMB sector, and integrating the pieces Microsoft haven’t bought yet to polish off or extend the Microsoft footprint in the business. It seems every time Microsoft simplify their offerings, they follow that up with an explosion of different SKUs. Customers are left with little idea of how to maximize their IT budget by choosing the right combination of SKUs to accomplish what they need for storage, compute, endpoint management, SIEM, telephony (it’s coming, like WIN11 not quite ready for prime-time), the right mix of virtual and hard desktops, mobile, etc.

I used to be a MS Partner and am now on the other side of things running a small law firm’s IS and facilities, so I understand both sides. I have yet to find a partner who can put all the pieces together for me in a concise, coherent, and cohesive manner.
