Tips and picks

Tip of the week:  Save big with the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale!

You have one week to save up to 70 percent on over 250 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. And some Windows 10 games too.

Plus: Games with Gold, baby!

AppRaisin pick of the week: Groove Music

Microsoft’s once-ignored music player is getting a lot of useful updates on Windows 10/Mobile … But iOS/Android remains a problem.

Plus: Microsoft Arrow Launcher 2.0 for Android!

Enterprise pick of the week:  App-V (and UE-V) virtualization tools

The good news: If you’re an Enterprise or Education user running Win 10 Anniversary, you’ll have App-V and UE-V bundled with your OS. The bad news: If you’re not Enterprise or Education, you’ll need to update to those SKUs get these tools.

Bonus enterprise pick:  If that Microsoft June security patch got you down (and brought down your Group Policy), you might want to check out this new Ask PFE blog post.

Codename pick of the week: Project Green

In honor of Dynamics 365, let’s pay homage to good old Project Green – Microsoft’s original plan to try to unify all its various ERP products into a single, unified product.

Beer pick of the week: Debbie Downer

This is a nearly impossible beer to get, but I’m making it the pick for a couple of reasons. First, it is a collaboration beer made by not 2, but 3, hot brewers (Other Half, Omnipollo, Tired Hands). It also is the first beer I’ve had with white chocolate. If you can find this IPA, Debbie Downer is worth a try.

Events!

JULY 13: Windows Weekly live from the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto. July 13 starting 2:30 pm or so. Open to show attendees. We’re also working on a meetup  — or at least an informal drink up — for WPC. Stay tuned.
