Lenovo introduced the touch bar on the Carbon X1 (Gen2) several years ago and abandoned it for the next edition because it was so reviled. This is not Apple innovating.

Thank you guys for another good episode.  One thing that did annoy a bit was a screen reflection that kept coming up on the TV monitor behind Brad when he moved to his right.

Apple would have been better off putting a touch display in the Magic Trackpad peripheral to add the functionality to all their computers and into the trackpad of the top-end model MacBook Pro's. It would have kept the costs down for the bulk of the models and left the option for people buying lower-end models to buy the accessory. The only issue they would need to figure out would be battery life for the Magic Trackpad.
