Does anyone know what the heck is going on with Edge (for W10, Version 101.0.1210.39 (Official build) (64-bit))?

I lost all of my favourites, home page, settings. This after a new weird Edge icon which has a semi-white/semi-transparent bottom left area with a dark centre, and it opens up a 2nd instance on the task bar. Strangely an ensuing update appeared after several days and restarts, with 3 options displaying in a new default page. The first option allowed me to ‘import’ my old settings and favourites.

Now a week or so later and I’m exactly back to where I started. Looking out on the Internet, I don’t believe I am alone…

Sounds like maybe a phantom secondary profile or something. I’ve had issues long ago where somehow I’d managed to create a separate profile and pinned that to my taskbar instead of my standard one. I’d recommend checking edge://settings/profiles and see if anything in there looks amiss. You can also delete any pinned Edge icons and re-pin once you’re using the correct profile.
