Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Games with Gold

It’s August, so it’s time for more free games

Plus: Should you sign-in to Windows 10 with an MSA?

App pick of the week: Minecraft with cross-platform play

Oh happy day.

Enterprise pick of the week: Dynamics 365 for Talent

Microsoft’s first dedicated HR application, Dynamics 365 for Talent, is now GA after a few months in public preview. MS is integrating this with LinkedIn Recruiter

*Speaking of LinkedIn, if you couldn’t find the new LinkedIn app for Win 10 in the Store, check again now. It should be there

Codename pick of the week: Threshold

Given Windows 10 originally launched 2 years ago on July 29, it’s time to remember back to the original codename for it: Threshold. (Original citations of that codename date back to 2013)

Paul’s “Cava pick of the week”?

Beer pick of the week

If not, the pick is Brooklyn Brewing’s Kiwi’s Playhouse, which is a fantastic oak-aged on kiwis sour.

Paul not sure that your fear about getting an upgrade in 18 months results in paying the 19.9% interest. Looks like you get credit for the returned Surface (i.e. the balance of the current loan) and a new 0% loan is taken out.

The note from the MS store:

[3] Upgrade subject to device availability and eligibility requirements, including account with Klarna, Inc. in good standing, return of functional device to Microsoft in good condition, and new 24-month payment plan and credit agreement with Klarna Inc.**
