    <p>It's hard to get excited about Microsoft anymore (particularly for consumers). The Surface and Xbox brands are strong, but Microsoft is absolutely absent in the primary consumer market–phones. They had a great product… and they just gave up. They had a complete ecosystem… and then disbanded it. </p><p><br></p><p>So, not only did they betray their most loyal customers, but now they can't even compete with the competition. It won't be long until Chrome OS is a viable alternative to Windows… and consumers will start to move away for good.</p>
