Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Another blockbuster month for Games with Gold

Microsoft kicked off August a day early

Plus: Xbox Game Pass picks up some new games for August too

App pick of the week: Microsoft Edge?

In the next version of Windows 10, Microsoft Edge may finally get there

Enterprise pick of the week: Windows 10 Enterprise for Remote Sessions

A nice spot by Tero Alhonen: Windows 10 Enterprise for Remote Sessions. This might be the rumored multi-session Windows 10 Enterprise edition that I heard about a few months ago. Alhonen found a mention of what looks to be a new Windows 10 edition in a recent Windows 10 test build.

Codename pick of the week: Strada

This is a codename from the vault. “Strada” was original codename for TypeScript, Microsoft’s superset of JavaScript, which officials introduced way back in 2012. It’s this week’s pick because MS just shipped TypeScript 3.0.

Beer pick of the week: Lagunitas IPA

Tomorrow, August 2, is national IPA day! Wooooh! So here’s a recommendation for an old favorite from Lagunitas in Petaluma, Calif. – its flagship Lagunitas IPA. It’s not gimmicky. It’s not overly hoppy. It’s widely available and it’s still quite tasty.
