Tips and picks

Hardware pick of the week: Luna Display

The best external display is the external display you already have

App pick of the week: Parallels Desktop 17.1

This one adds full support for Windows 11 and macOS Monterey. And damn does WOA run great on M1.

Plus: Start11 RC2

Enterprise pick of the week: SysInternals is in the Microsoft Store

The SysInternals suite is in the Store. And in terms of downloads, it’s right on the heels of TikTok if you believe Mark Russinovich

And SysMon for Linux is here

Enterprise pick No. 2 of the week: Azure Stack HCI 21H2 is out

It’s a hybrid IT person’s week. Microsoft has (very quietly) rolled out Azure Stack HCI 21H2. Here’s what’s new.

Beer pick of the week: Fifth Hammer Scary Spice

Fall/Halloween beer picks continue with Fifth Hammer’s Scary Spice. If you’re going to drink something with lots of pumpkin pie spices (Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Allspice, Clove, Ginger, Vanilla) go for a boubon-barrel aged imperial stout. Fifth Hammer, in Long Island City, Queens, does a lot of crazy beers. This one, a 10%er, is sweet, spicy and a nice dessert-type drink.
