Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Upgrading/Upgraded to Windows 11? You need to look at this OneDrive setting

OneDrive backup is one of the many ways in which Microsoft is removing choice in Windows 11. You need to look at this.

App pick of the week: Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac

Looking to run Windows 11 on ARM as fast as possible. Here’s how.

Enterprise pick of the week: Revisiting the M365-Office connectivity warning

False alarm or not, Microsoft is definitely playing fast and loose with the word “supported” when it comes to connecting Office perpetual to back-end M365 services.

Enterprise pick No. 2 of the week: Entra Verified ID now generally available

Microsoft rebranded a number of its identity and access products as “Entra” in May. The cornerstone of its Entra family, Verified ID, is generally available as of this week. The Verified Identity capability started out as an incubation about five years ago and debuted as a public preview of Azure AD Verifiable Credentials.

Beer pick of the week: Trillium Brewing Congress Street IPA

Trillium, based in Canton, Mass., is one of the best IPA brewers. Period. We almost never get their beer here in NYC. But when we do, it’s a chance to taste a “perfect” IPA. Congress Street uses Galaxy hops. It’s fruity, but also has a bitter finish. If you see Trillium anywhere, grab one —whichever version it is — and bow down to the masters.
