Minecraft Dungeons is Now Available

Microsoft announced today that Minecraft Dungeons is available now on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

“Today, we’re excited to celebrate the global release of Minecraft Dungeons,” Microsoft’s David Nisshagen writes. “Minecraft Dungeons started as a true passion project here at Mojang Studios, and it has been an incredible journey to watch how the game has evolved over the years leading up to today’s launch. We couldn’t be prouder as a team, and we can’t wait for families and friends to dive into this brand new, standalone world within the Minecraft Universe.”

Minecraft Dungeons is described as an action-adventure dungeon crawler set within the Minecraft universe that’s perfect to play with friends and family via local and online co-op multiplayer. It’s available in two versions, a Standard Edition that costs $19.99 and a Hero Edition for $29.99 that adds a Hero Cape, two player skins, and a chicken pet, as well as two future downloadable content (DLC) packs.

Those first two DLC packs are already in production, Microsoft says. The first one will be called Jungle Awakens, and it will include new missions set in a jungle that is stocked with new weapons, armor and artifacts. Microsoft promises more information soon.
