Microsoft Previews Halo Infinite Season 2

It’s been a long time coming, but Halo Infinite Season 2 will debut May 3rd with new content and an all-new Battle Pass that never expires.

“The focus of the Halo Infinite team, in priority order [is] addressing issues negatively impacting the player experience, completing Season 2 and delivering it as promised on May 3rd, [and] continuing work on Campaign Co-Op, Forge, and Season 3,” 343 Industries’ Joseph Staten writes in the announcement post. “On behalf of the entire team, thank you again for your patience and your passion. Please keep the feedback coming, know that we are listening and learning, and that we are working hard to deliver more Halo Infinite content that we hope you love to play.”

Halo Infinite Season 2 is called “Lone Wolves” and it will come with playlist updates, balance changes, new modes—including “Last Spartan Standing,” a free-for-all elimination mode, “Land Grab,” and an updated version of the long-time favorite “King of the Hill”—and maps, including an Arena map named “Catalyst” and a BTB map named “Breaker.” Staten promises more details on each soon.

Staten says that 343 will not be able to ship Campaign network co-op at the start of Season 2 as planned. But it is still aiming to deliver Campaign network co-op later in Season 2, and he says he will share a release date for that and for split-screen co-op as soon as possible. As he will for the other updates that are even further out, like Campaign Co-Op, Forge, and Season 3.

Halo should have been a game that I was excited to keep playing, but something happened and I am just not that interested.

Maybe 343 is not a good fit for anything Halo? The TV series is odd as it does not follow anything from the books or games, well very little, and this Halo game has been OK. Good single player, but not much else.
