This new year is kicking off with a bang for Game Pass subscribers, with two blockbuster games coming soon to the library. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be joining Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the game subscription service on January 9, while the critically acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2 will follow on January 16.
This first wave of games for January includes six more titles including the horror adventure game Close to the Sun, which is available on Console, PC, and Cloud starting today. Other highlights include the tactical multiplayer shooter Hell Let Loose, the action-adventure game Figma, and the horror game Those Who Remain. Lastly, We Happy Few is also coming back to the Game Pass library next week.

After making a comeback to Game Pass library in July, GTA V will be leaving it on Thursday, January 5. A game of this caliber is likely very expensive to license, so it’s not surprising to see it only last for six months on the catalog. Four other games will also leave on January 15, and these are Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden. As usual, you can take advantage of up to 20% discounts on these games if you want to keep them in your library.
