New Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 Builds Are Available for Insiders

Windows 11 PC

Microsoft has just released three new Windows 11 Insider builds for Insiders on the Dev, Beta, and Release Preview Channels. The 25H2 build 26220.6682 and 24H2 build 26120.6682 bring a similar set of changes for Dev and Beta Channel testers, and there are also new 25H2 and 24H2 builds for Insiders on the Release Preview Channel.

Here are the main new features for Insiders on the Dev and Beta Channels:

Copilot prompt box in Click to Do: This new box at the top of the Click to Do context menu allows users to type a custom prompt that is then sent to Copilot along with selected content on screen. This new prompt box isn’t available for Insiders in the EU yet.

Prompt recommendations in Start menu: Some Insiders will see examples of prompts they can try using in the Copilot app in the Recommended section of the Start Menu.

New emojis: Windows 11 is getting the Emoji 16.0 release, which includes new emojis representing a face with bags under eyes, a fingerprint, a root Vegetable, and more.

Narrator improvements: When using Narrator to work with Word documents, Narrator will provide more natural voice feedback, better footnote navigation, improved comment reading, and other improvements.

Controller navigation: When using an Xbox game controller on Windows 11, short-pressing the Xbox button will now open Game Bar. Long-pressing the Xbox button will now open Task View.

Second Chance Out of Box Experience improvements: Microsoft is improving this experience to let users know when their Microsoft subscription needs attention, such as reviewing and updating a payment method.

Microsoft Store update: This new Store update for Insiders brings Agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot to the Microsoft Store’s AI Hub. Insiders will also be able to launch app updates provided by publishers directly on the product page.

For Windows Insiders on the Release Preview Channels, here are the main changes included in the 25H2 build 26200.6713 and 24H2 build 26100.5061:

Click to Do improvements: Click to Do can now detect tables and send them to Excel, copy or share them. The AI feature also now provides more concise summaries with the Summarize action.

Desktop improvements: Insiders can now move the hardware indicators for brightness, volume, airplane mode, and virtual desktops to different positions on your screen by going to Settings > System > Notifications.

AI actions in File Explorer: It’s now possible to edit images or summarize documents by right-clicking (or pressing Shift +F10) on the file and selecting AI actions.

Windows Share improvements: It’s now possible to pin your favorite apps in the Windows Share window to quickly access them when you need them.

Automatic Super Resolution (Copilot+ PCs only): Insiders with Qualcomm-powered Copilot+ PCs will now be prompted to turn on Auto SR when a supported game is launched. The feature is also now easier to find and manage in Graphics settings, and future updates might enable users to turn on Auto SR directly from the Game Bar during gameplay.
