Parallels Desktop 26 for Mac

Parallels has just released Parallels Desktop 26, the latest version of the popular Mac virtualization app that brings support for the upcoming macOS 26 Taohe and Windows 11 version 25H2. Just like Apple, the company is moving to year numbers for this latest release, which also introduces new tools for IT pros and developers.

While it was already possible to run both macOS 26 Tahoe and Windows 11 version 25H2 in virtual machines (VMs) on Parallels Desktop 20, the new release adds support for the background process changes on macOS 26. This will ensure that key functions such as setup routines and
Coherence Mode, which allows Mac users to run Windows apps as if they were native Mac apps, will continue to function as expected. For Windows VMs, Parallels Desktop for Mac 26 now makes it possible to view the actual available disk space on the Mac host.

With this release, businesses and IT pros are also getting renewed SOC 2 Type II compliance and simplified deployment and device management options with support for Jamf Pro or other mobile device management (MDM) platforms. Parallels Desktop for Mac 26 will also soon make VM management more secure with new centralized controls via the Parallels Desktop Enterprise Management Portal.

“With a continued focus on delivering value to enterprise users, the Parallels team has steadily introduced powerful new features and capabilities over the past year. These include AI Writing Tools for productivity, x86 emulation preview to support legacy apps, OBS Camera integration for enhanced video workflows, and support for applications like Dragon Medical One to meet specialized industry needs of verticals like healthcare. Parallels will continue introducing enterprise-focused capabilities on an ongoing basis, giving customers faster access to features that enhance performance, compatibility, and IT management,” the company said in a press release.

Lastly, Parallels isn’t increasing the price of Parallels Desktop for Mac 26. The Standard Edition is still available at $99/€99/£89.99 per year, and a perpetual license will cost $219.99/€189.99/£154.99. Users can also upgrade from any previous version for $69.99/€69.99/£54.99. Power users needing to run multiple VMs simultaneously with more than 8GB of RAM and 4 virtual CPUs can purchase the Pro Edition at $119.99/€119.99/£99.99 per year or the Business Edition at $149.99/€149/£119.99 per year.
