Sticky Notes 3 is Now Rolling Out on Windows 10

One month after it began testing Sticky Notes 3 with Windows Insiders on Skip Ahead, Microsoft is beginning a gradual roll-out of the new app on the latest shipping versions of Windows 10.

“Sticky Notes 3 syncs your notes across your Windows 10 devices,” Microsoft’s Reza Jooyandeh tweeted this week. “We’ve started rolling out gradually to everyone on the April 2018 Update (version 1803) or higher. If you haven’t received it yet, expect to see it soon.”

On that note, I’m not seeing it yet, and my PCs are already on Windows 10 version 1809. But as we previously reported, Sticky Notes 3 is a major update to this app. New features include a new dark theme called Charcoal Note, a new formatting bar for easier styling of notes, improved performance, new animations, and improved accessibility.

And while it is currently available only on Windows 10, I had exclusively reported on Windows Weekly back in August that it is coming, with cross-platform sync—to Android and iOS as well.

Not here yet either. I checked the store to see if an update was available there, but the only new thing on the page was the yellow icon.

I've been not so patiently waiting for v3 ever since I heard it was coming. I use the weak v2 a lot, and the new features in v3 are right in line with what I wanted.

Syncing across devices, storage of separate notes and selected display, formatting improvements esp bulleted or numbered lists. Now that's useful. Much lighter than OneNote for reminders. Look forward to this, long overdue imho.

I thought ToDo was for syncing across devices. I'm trying to imagine a need to have a quick and temporary sticky-note on other machines. Maybe I'm not using them like most people.
