Android 13 Comes to WSA in the Windows Insider Program

Microsoft announced today that it is upgrading the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) to Android 13 in all Windows Insider Program channels. The change comes almost one month after it began testing Android 13 in the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) Preview Program.

“Today we are shipping an update for Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11 to all Windows Insider channels,” the Windows Insider Program team writes. “This update (2211.40000.11.0) will update WSA to Android 13, general reliability, and performance.”

Here’s the full list of changes:

  • Windows Subsystem for Android updated to Android 13
  • Improvements in boot performance
  • Improvements to mouse click input
  • Improvements in clipboard stability
  • Improvements to application resizing
  • Reliability improvements to media files opening in Windows
  • Jumplist entries for applications supporting Android app shortcuts

Presumably, this means that we will see Android 13 in WSA in the stable version of Windows 11 in the coming weeks.
