While the Xbox One has always offered controller configuration capabilities, the Creators Update brings some new features. So if you require unique controller configurations, you should examine this interface, regardless of which type of controller you use.
To do so, navigate to Settings > Kinect & Devices > Configure > Button Mapping and, if necessary, choose the appropriate controller.
With an Xbox Wireless Controller, you will see a number of options related to button, stick, and trigger mapping, and for toggling vibration. That vibration option is new to the Creators Update, for normal Xbox controller users. (It was available previously only to those with Elite controllers.)
Those lucky enough to own an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller will, of course, see many more options. This controller type supports multiple configurations, and it has interchangeable paddles, sticks, and d-pad.
New to the Creators Update is a fine-grained way to tailor how vibration works on the triggers and left and ride side of the controller itself.
