Taking a page from the Sony playbook, Microsoft announced its Xbox One S will also be $50 off for the remainder of the holiday selling season.
As you may recall, Sony announced last week that its Uncharted 4 PlayStation 4 Bundle would cost just $250 from December 11 through December 24. For that price, which is $50 off the normal pricing, U.S.-based customers receive a “slim” (new generation) PlayStation 4 console with a 500 GB hard drive (HDD), a single DualShock 4 controller, and a free copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
I wondered aloud at that time if Microsoft would try to match this deal. Unsurprisingly, they have. Actually, they’ve surpassed it.
“All Xbox One and Xbox One S consoles will be $50 off at participating retailers in the U.S. from Sunday, December 11 through Saturday, December 24,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle announced. “Start your holiday on the right foot with some savings from Xbox!”
Indeed. This deal mirrors Microsoft’s Black Friday pricing and represents a stellar deal for the Xbox One S, which I previously described as “the perfect thing”. And unlike the Sony offer, this deal applies to all Xbox One S consoles and bundles, meaning you aren’t locked into the base version of the console, with its 500 GB HDD.
“You can [also] pick up the Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle, which comes with a 1 TB hard drive and a full-game download of Gears of War 4 for Xbox One and Windows 10 for $299,” Tuttle notes, a price that is, yes, $50 less the usual.
Microsoft notes that this deal is now available at participating retailers, including Amazon, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart.com and Microsoft Store. If you’re not outraged by sponsored links, here are a few for Amazon:
Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Bundle – 500 GB HDD, $250
Xbox One S Minecraft Favorites Bundle – 500 GB HDD, $250
Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Bundle – 1 TB HDD, $299
Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle – 1 TB HDD, $299
