Google Issues a Major Chrome Update on iPhone and iPad

Google announced today that it is bringing five major new features to its Chrome web browser on iPhone and iPad.
“With Chrome [on iPhone and iPad], you can securely save your passwords so there’s no need to keep guessing,” Google’s Nasim Sedaghat writes in the announcement post. “Your payment and shipping info can be automatically filled when you’re ready to check out, and your favorite tabs and bookmarks can be synced across your devices, whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or laptop.

Google is bringing the following five new features to Chrome for iPhone and iPad:
Enhanced Safe Browsing. Available previously on desktop, Enhanced Safe Browsing provides stronger protection from phishing and malware on iPhone and iPad. When enabled, Chrome will predict and warn you proactively if web pages are dangerous by sending information about them to Google Safe Browsing to be checked. It will also warn you if your usernames and passwords have been compromised in third-party data breaches and then suggest you change them everywhere.
Google Password Manager. Available previously on desktop and Android, Google Password Manager can now be configured as your Autofill provider on iPhone and iPad.
Discover new content or start a new search. In addition to accessing content from recently opened tabs, Chrome on iPhone and iPad will now make it easier to browse content, start a new Search, or easily get back to your most frequently visited sites via the new tab page. This feature is coming to Android soon as well, Google says.
Faster language translation. Chrome for iPhone and iPad will now use on-device machine learning to automatically translate websites to your preferred language. The browser is using an updated language identification model to accurately figure out the language of the page you’re visiting, and then determine whether it needs to be translated.
Chrome Actions. Chrome actions are coming soon to iPhone and iPad. This feature helps you get things done more quickly from the Chrome address bar by typing an action’s name. For example, you can do things like clear browsing data, open an Incognito tab, or set Chrome as your default browser.
