Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Canary build 26217, which only includes bug fixes and no new features. It follows last week’s build 26212, which brought three improvements for Windows Share that the company previously introduced on the Beta Channel.
The release notes for today’s build 26217 mention “a small set of general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience,” which is a formulation the Windows Insider team has been using quite often recently. There are also two fixes for the Settings app, one related to Color filters in Accessibility settings, and the other one for camera options.
The Windows Insider team also said that it’s still investigating reports from some Canary testers being stuck on the build 26040, which was released back in January. Unfortunately, the only workaround today is to do a clean install using an ISO from the Windows Insider website.
We’re less than a week away from Microsoft’s annual Build developer conference, so this is likely going to be a quiet week on the Windows Insider front. The conference will be preceded by Microsoft’s Surface and AI event on Monday, where the company is expected to reveal “AI Explorer” and other new AI features coming to Windows 11 version 24H2 later this year.
