Google announced today that it is selling refurbished Pixel devices in the U.S. exclusively through the Google Store.
“Starting today, you can purchase refurbished Pixel phones through our new Certified Refurbished Phone program in the U.S.,” Google’s Prem Pandian writes. “For the first time ever, this provides more sustainable and affordable choices when it comes to Pixel phones. According to Google, each device that it sells as refurbished is carefully inspected and, if necessary, repaired only with authentic Google parts. The devices are upgraded to the latest version of Android and then packaged in a new box with a compatible charger. And each gets a one-year warranty. “The result is a Pixel phone that’s as close to new as possible,” Pandian says.

I assume available configurations will change in time. And that, better still, we’ll see non-phone devices like Pixel Tablet and Pixel Watch as well. And someday, maybe, international availability too. I guess we’ll see.
