Windows 11 Build 27818 is Out on the Canary Channel

Windows 11 PC

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 build 27818 for Insiders on the Canary Channel. This is a minor update overall, but there are some changes to the Windows Security app and the removal of the now-deprecated suggested actions.

The Windows Security app, which lets users manage Microsoft Defender Antivirus, Windows Firewall, Smart App Control, and other features will now share more details about Pluton security chips. On PCs with these security processors (such as Copilot+ PCs), the Device security > Security page will now show technical details about them such as manufacturer and manufacturer version.

The suggested actions feature, which surfaced relevant actions when copying a date, time, or phone number to the Clipboard is also being disabled in the Windows 11 Canary build 27818. Microsoft announced the deprecation of the feature back in December 2024, so it’s now about to disappear for good.

Today’s Windows 11 Canary build 27818 should also improve the performance of extracting zipped files in File Explorer. It also fixes a d3d9.dll crash that was causing multiple apps to fail to launch on the build 27802 and more recent flights.

If you missed them earlier this week, Microsoft also released the 24H2 build 26120.3576 on the Dev and Beta Channels, the 23H2 build 22635.5090 on the Beta Channel, and the 24H2 build 26100.3613 on the Release Preview Channel. That’s probably it for Windows Insider flights this week, though you never know.
