Microsoft Issues New Windows 11 Builds to Dev, Beta, and Beta (23H3) Channels

Voice access suggestions in Windows 11

It’s not just Paint: Microsoft has issued new pre-release builds of Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 23H2 to the Dev and Beta channels of the Windows Insider Program.

Cumulative update KB5053650 is now available for those with Windows 11 version 24H2 PCs enrolled in the Dev and Beta channels. This updates Windows 11 to build 26120.3576 and adds the following new features:

Voice access suggestions. For those with Snapdragon X-powered Copilot+ PCs, Voice access has been improved so that you can now use more natural language and not conform to a fixed syntax. For example, instead of just saying “Open Edge,” you can now say many variants of that, like “Can you open Edge application,” “Switch to Microsoft Edge,” “Please open the Edge browser,” and so on. “Voice access understands your intent and executes the right action for the voice command you speak,” Microsoft explains. “This means that you no longer need to pause and remember the exact phrasing of a command, just say what feels most intuitive.”

File Explorer improvements. The “See more” menu now opens in the correct direction (down).

Cumulative update KB5053649 is now being offered to those who stuck with Windows 11 version 23H2 in the Beta channel. This updates Windows 11 to build 22635.5090 and adds “a small set of general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build on their PCs.” There are several fixed issues and a few known issues, notably for the Start menu, which may show a delay when displaying icons.

In short, nothing major.
