Adobe’s new Firefly AI Assistant helps customers orchestrate and execute multi-step tasks across Creative Cloud.
“Adobe is leading the shift into a new era of agentic creativity, where you direct how your work takes shape and your perspective, voice, and taste become the most powerful creative instruments of all,” Adobe president David Wadhwani says. “Adobe Firefly is a category of one, with the best models, the most powerful tools and now, a fundamentally new way of creating that gives you the combined power and precision of all our creative apps in one place.”
Coming soon to Adobe Firefly, the Firefly AI Assistant uses a natural language interface so you can direct AI agents to do work across Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator and other Creative Cloud solutions. This is a fundamental shift in how creative work is done, Adobe says, as it collapses the divide between what a creator can imagine and what the tools can accomplish.
The Firefly AI Assistant also includes a library of prebuilt Creative Skills for things like retouching photos, and creators can of course make their own. The assistant will learn the user’s preferences over time, including favorite tools, workflows, and aesthetic choices, and it will take context-aware actions based on the types of content being created or edited.
Adobe is also working to bring this new way of creating to third-party AI models, including Anthropic Claude. You can learn more about Adobe’s vision for this new workflow on the Adobe website. You can also learn more about Firefly AI Assistant specifically on the Adobe website.
