Rockstar Games published today the cover art for GTA VI ahead of its release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on November 19, 2026. Pre-orders for the game will also open on June 25 on the Xbox and PlayStation digital storefronts, as well as other select retailers.
GTA VI is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of all time, and it has already been delayed twice. GTA V, the last game in the series, was released back in 2013, and it’s one of the best-selling games of all time with over 230 million copies sold to this day.
The global marketing campaign for GTA VI will likely kick off very soon, and it will definitely boost console sales ahead of the holiday season. Rockstar Games already showed two trailers for GTA VI, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see another one go live next week when the game becomes available for pre-order.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers.

GTA VI will be set in Vice City, Rockstar Games’ fictional recreation of Miami that was first seen in GTA: Vice City more than 20 years ago. The game is included alongside GTA III and GTA: San Andreas in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which Rockstar Games released in 2021.
Starting today, Rockstar Games is also offering a free upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of GTA V to players who already own the game on last-gen consoles. The current-gen version offers up to 4K graphics, 60 FPS, and ray tracing, though there’s no cross-play support with the last-gen version of the game.
