IFA 2026: Lenovo Demos the PCs of the Future We All Want

Every year, Lenovo shows off concept PCs, but this year’s designs are the best yet and a clear vision for the future. They are both incredible.

There are two, Project Swan and Project AeroBlade, and each is immediately and obviously special. Better yet, both appear likely to enter production given the obvious value.

Project Swan

Project Swan is a 14-inch laptop with a 4:3 display panel (!) that can roll out horizontally at the touch of a button to provide a wider 17-inch panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The transition happens quickly and the effect is seamless, with no creases, ripples, or other oddness.

Thematically, Project Swann is the spiritual successor to the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable that Lenovo released last year after it debuted as a concept PC in 2024. But where that laptop’s display expands vertically, the Project Swan display expands in a more useful landscape mode. It’s exactly what I asked for when I saw the previous rollable the first time. I cannot wait to buy this laptop.

Project AeroBlade

That said, the other concept PC, Project AeroBlade, is arguably just as exciting. This is a crazy thin and light laptop–just 1.8 pounds (830 grams) and 0.39 inches (10 mm), respectively–with no fans, active cooling, or even vents of any kind. Lenovo achieves this miracle using an Active Flow thermal solution that’s based on Fore Systems’ AirJet technology.

“For decades, making laptops thinner has meant sacrificing sustained performance,” Lenovo explains. “Active Flow challenges that convention, enabling sustained AI performance while reducing noise, dust intake, and mechanical complexity. The result is a quieter, cleaner computing experience that feels equally at home on a desk, on a couch, in a coffee shop, or while traveling – without the performance compromises traditionally associated with fanless PCs.”

The system is essentially noiseless thanks to Active Flow, which uses imperceptible vibrations to cool the innards of the laptop. And it’s so light that it feels like an engineering sample with nothing inside it. Literally incredible.
