Apple released the first iOS 27.2 developer beta yesterday, which includes a redesigned Health app with new Apple Intelligence features. This new app is set to roll out in the US later this year, but Apple said in its developer release notes that it won’t launch with the public version of iOS 27.2.
You may be wondering why Apple didn’t release an iOS 27.1 developer beta first, but it looks like this version of the OS will only ship with the upcoming iPhone Duo, which is coming on October 16. This version of iOS will come with unique new features for the new foldable form factor, including a Dynamic Island and dock that have been moved to the right side of the screen.
iOS 27, which was released on Monday, already added support for perimenopause and menopause in Cycle Tracking. The redesigned app launching later this year in the US will come with a new Insights tab that dynamically adapts to a user’s personal health and fitness metrics. The new Longevity tab, however, will offer deeper insights into users’ health metrics including heart health, sleep quality, hearing, nutrition, and more. The new app will also allow users to take in-depth physical assessments and purchase new labs from Quest.

The new Siri AI assistant that Apple launched in beta in English on iOS 27 will add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish on iOS 27.2. In the EU, it still won’t be available on iOS and iPadOS due to Apple’s DMA compliance concerns, but the new assistant is already available on macOS, which the EU Commission didn’t designate as a large platform that needs to be regulated under the new law.
Other notable updates in this first iOS 27.2 developer beta include design changes in the Apple Music and Apple Podcasts apps. In the latter, ‘New Episodes’ has been renamed to ‘Up Next’. In the Apple TV app, parents will also be able to create separate profiles for their kids with content restrictions.
