Copilot GPT Builder Now Lets Copilot Pro Users Create Custom GPTs

Copilot GPT Builder

Microsoft Copilot Pro, the company’s new consumer subscription that provides access to advanced Copilot features now includes Copilot GPT Builder. This new tool, which was announced back in January, lets Copilot Pro users create custom versions of Microsoft’s Copilot assistant with just a couple of prompts.

These custom Copilot GPTs can be designed for specific purposes: That can be answering questions about a specific topic or completing specific tasks. Copilot GPTs can also be shared with other users that won’t need to pay for a Copilot Pro subscription to use them.

If you have a Copilot Pro subscription, Copilot GPT Builder is accessible from the new standalone Copilot web app or chat.bing.com, though you’ll need to open these links in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. From there, you’ll need to open the navigation pane, go the Chats tab, and select “See all Copilot GPTs” under the Copilot GPTs item.

The Copilot GPT Builder UI will then guide you through the creation and publication of a custom Copilot GPT. Using natural language, you’ll be able to define what you want your custom GPT to do and the style it should use in its responses. You’ll also be able to preview Copilot GPTs before publishing them and decide if you want to share them with others via an URL. You can learn more about the process of creating and sharing Copilot GPTs on this support page.

If Copilot GPTs work on both desktop PCs and mobile devices, they can only be edited and deleted on the desktop. Overall, the ability to build your own Copilot GPT should be a nice addition to Microsoft’s Copilot Pro subscription, which is priced at $20 per user per month. The subscription also includes priority access to OpenAI’s GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo models, as well as new Copilot features in select Microsoft 365 apps including Microsoft Designer. Paul previously wrote about his own experience using Copilot Pro, which seems to be good value.
