Adobe Lightroom, the company’s popular photo editing solution is getting a new Generative Remove feature powered by the company’s Firefly generative machine learning model. This feature, which is similar to Magic Eraser in Google Photos, will allow users to easily remove unwanted objects from a picture.
“Generative Remove is helpful for editing even the most complicated backgrounds and surroundings including removing stains from a patterned shirt, wrinkles of a tablecloth in food photography, unwanted reflections in water and more,” the company explained today. “From removing distractions in travel photos, to empowering even more seamless retouching capabilities for pros, Generative Remove empowers everyone with new creative possibilities and saves time to focus on what they do best – bringing their creative visions and work to life.”
Generative Remove is currently available as an early access feature in Adobe Lightroom on mobile, desktop, iPad, web, and the Classic version. The feature can be accessed alongside other tools for cropping pictures or adding presets.
Adobe is also making an AI-powered Lens Blur tool available across the Lightroom ecosystem today. This feature can be used to add aesthetic blur effects on pictures, and it also comes with automatic presets.
Adobe is adding other features to Lightroom today including HDR optimization and instant access to photo libraries in Lightroom mobile and desktop apps. A more intuitive editing experience is also available on mobile.
