At its MAX London event this week, Adobe announced that customers can now use Google, OpenAI, and other AI models in its Firefly app. Among other things.
“With the latest Adobe Firefly models, you can generate stunning images, videos, audio, and vectors,” Adobe’s Ashley Still writes. “In addition to Adobe Firefly models, which are commercially safe and IP-friendly for production use, now you can expand your creative options by using non-Adobe models in the Adobe Firefly app. Choose from a variety of creative AI models with different capabilities and styles, both from Adobe and popular partner models, starting with Google Imagen3 and Veo2, OpenAI GPT image generation, and Black Forest Lab Flux 1.1 Pro.”
But there’s more.
Adobe also made Firefly Image Model 4, Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra, and Firefly Video Model generally available to customers, with Text to Image, Text to Video, and Image to Video tools, and the Ultra model is particularly good for professional-grade images, the firm says. There’s a new AI-first mood-boarding tool called Firefly Boards, in beta, for visualizing ideas. And a new Firefly mobile app that’s coming soon to Android, iPhone, and iPad for transforming designs on the go.
Adobe also announced updates across the Creative Cloud. The new version of Adobe Illustrator offers performance improvements of up to 5x, new Generative Shape Fill, Text to Pattern, and Generative Expand tools, and other new features. Photoshop gets a new Select Details capability in the Object Selection tool, a new Adjust Colors tool, a redesigned Hue and Saturation Adjustment panel, and improved Actions in beta. Adobe Express adds Clip Maker, new video editing tools, the ability to animate Illustrator and Photoshop designs, and more. And there are further refinements in InDesign, Lightroom, Adobe Fonts, and more.
