The May 2025 Patch Tuesday updates are now available for all supported versions of Windows 11 and Windows 10. The KB5058411 update for Windows 11 version 24H2 enables the AI-powered Recall and Click to Do features on Copilot+ PCs, and it also enables the new AI-powered search experience on Intel and AMD-powered models.
Both Recall and Click to Do will gradually roll out to consumers via Microsoft’s controlled feature rollouts (CFR) technology. For users still on Windows 11 version 23H2, today’s KB5058405 patch brings a new Speech recap feature for Narrator, a new Phone Link sidebar for the Start menu, pivot-based curated views in File Explorer Home, and more. These improvements are also available in the KB5058411 update for Windows 11 version 24H2.
Here are the main new features that will start rolling out gradually to Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 23H2:
Recall (24H2 only): On Copilot+ PCs, this feature helps you find and get back to any app, website, image, or document just by describing its content. Recall is opt-in, you must enroll using Windows Hello ESS-based biometric authentication, the snapshots it saves are encrypted, and all processing occurs in an isolated memory environment.
Click to Do (24H2 only): On Copilot+ PCs, this feature lets you take actions on text or graphics you see anywhere onscreen while using Windows. Just click Windows Key + mouse button (or Windows Key + Q), and Click to Do will highlight the elements you can act on. Click to Do is also available via a new version of the Snipping Tool app that’s available in the Store, and in the Taskbar-based Search box.
Improved Windows Search (24H2 only). This Copilot+ PC feature uses semantic indexing models to let you search for documents, photos, and settings across Windows 11 and OneDrive using natural language. With today’s patch, it’s now available on AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs.
Settings improvements (24H2 only): You can now manage which apps Windows recommends actions for by going to Settings > Apps > Actions on Copilot+ PCs.
Narrator improvements: A new Speech recap feature lets you access spoken content, follow along with live transcription, and copy what Narrator last said.
Phone Link improvements: You can now integrate Phone Link directly with the Start menu so you can access your phone calls, text messages, and photos, and share content between your mobile device and PC.
Widgets improvements: Developers can now create widgets for the Widgets board and/or Lock screen using existing web-based content. The Lock screen weather widget is also adding new customization options for EU users.
File Explorer improvements: File Explorer gets pivot-based curated views in Home, improved support for Windows 11 text scaling, and improved performance with ZIP files.
There’s not much to say about the KB5058379 patch for Windows 10 version 22H2: This update mostly brings miscellaneous security improvements to internal Windows OS functionality, and it also adds new blocklist drivers with security vulnerabilities that have been used in Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks.
