Google Releases NotebookLM App for iOS and Android

Google NotebookLM App iOS Android

NotebookLM, the Google AI chatbot that can create audio overviews from articles and documents, is now available as a mobile app. The new NotebookLM app for iOS and Android lets users listen to audio overviews offline, add new sources to a notebook, and more.

“This first version of the app includes many of the core features of NotebookLM — with more refinements and features to come in the months ahead — and is designed to help you understand anything, anywhere,” Google said yesterday. The company also shared that “millions of people” are already using NotebookLM for converting complex sources into easy-to-digest formats.

NotebookLM is a handy service that can create podcast-like content with virtual hosts, FAQs, or briefing documents. Notebooks support a variety of sources, including websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos, and it’s even possible to interact with the virtual hosts in real time while listening to an audio overview.

Paul previously experimented with NotebookLM to create an audio overview from a very technical blog post about Windows on ARM from Steven Sinofsky… and the end result was quite impressive. You can check it for yourself here.

Google will kick off its annual I/O developer conference later today at 10 AM PT, and you can expect to hear a lot more about the company’s generative AI efforts. Microsoft also had a lot to say about AI at its annual Build developer conference yesterday, and you can find all of our coverage here.
