Meta AI Adds a Video Editing Feature

Meta’s AI chatbot is becoming a bit more useful today thanks to new generative AI video editing features. At launch, Meta AI users will be able to change their outfit, location, style, and more in their videos using more than 50 editing prompts.

Editing short videos with Meta AI is available on the web, the Meta AI mobile app, and the new Edits app Meta recently launched to compete with ByteDance’s CapCut. For a limited time, users can use the various prompts to transform 10 seconds of a video for free.

The new AI video editing features can do simple things like changing the lighting of a video, but they can also turn a video into a graphic novel or video game. Edited videos can also be easily shared on Facebook and Instagram.

“Inspired by our Movie Gen models, this new feature is just the first step toward our goal of bringing you AI video generation and editing across our apps and products. Later this year, you’ll be able to edit videos alongside Meta AI with your own text prompts to make your video edits exactly as you imagine them,” Meta said today. Editing videos with Meta AI is currently available in the US and more than a dozen other markets.
