OpenAI is starting to roll out a yearly recap feature in ChatGPT in select markets. “Your Year with ChatGPT” celebrates how users interacted with the chatbot throughout the year, and users will also get awards based on their usage, as well as a personalized poem and image that represents them.
Your Year with ChatGPT is very similar to Spotify Wrapped and other yearly recaps done by YouTube, Twitch, Apple Music, and other services. This is a first for ChatGPT, however, which has nearly 900 million monthly active users.

ChatGPT’s yearly recap will be rolling out to Free, Plus, and Pro users in the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia who have turned on “reference saved memory” and “reference chat history.” For the feature to appear, users will also need to have reached a certain conversation threshold with the chatbot.
If you’re eligible, the annual review feature should appear on the app’s home screen. You can also try to ask for “Your Year with ChatGPT” directly.
2025 was a big year for OpenAI, which launched a viral AI-powered video creation app, a licensing agreement with Disney, and an app store in ChatGPT. However, the AI startup is facing fierce competition from Google and its Gemini models, and it recently had to declare a “code red” alert and reshuffle some of its team to get GPT-5.2, its latest flagship model, out the door.
