Amazon’s Alexa+ Assistant is Now Available in Mexico

Alexa+ Mexico

Amazon’s Alexa+ assistant is now available in early access in Mexico. Following its launch in the US and Canada last year, Alexa+ has been localized in Spanish, and early access will be rolling out in waves in Mexico over the coming months.

“The teams put a lot of work into making Alexa+ feel truly local, and it shows. She picks up on slang and everyday phrases, and customers can choose the standard Alexa+ voice or one of the new voices created with local talent,” said Panos Panay, the new head of Amazon’s Devices and Services business, in a LinkedIn post.

Amazon said last month that Alexa+ was already available for “tens of millions of customers,” and the company recently started pushing the new assistant to Prime members with eligible Echo devices. Panay added yesterday that “usage is growing fast, engagement is off the charts, and the love for Alexa here is real.”

Alexa+ is free to use during the early access period, and it will be free for Prime members once it exits beta. The new assistant is more conversational, and it will work on more than 600 million Alexa-enabled devices purchased worldwide. It’s also available on mobile via the Alexa app, the web, and it’s coming soon to select Samsung TVs, BMW Cars, and smart home appliances.
