Deezer Launches Free AI Music Detector for Competing Streaming Services

Deezer AI Music Detector

The French music streaming service Deezer is launching today a free AI music detector that can scan playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and other competing streaming services. The new scanning tool leverages Deezer’s existing in-house technology that automatically detects and tags AI-generated music on the platform.

“A vast majority of people want to know if AI music is being recommended to them and our data show that nearly half of the users joining Deezer from another platform have AI tracks in their playlists. We’re expecting our AI music detector to be an eye-opening experience for listeners around the world,” said Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier.

Deezer launched its AI detection tool in 2025, and the company says that it’s currently receiving nearly 75,000 AI-generated tracks every day, which represents “more than 44% of the total daily delivery.” All of these AI-generated tracks are automatically tagged and removed from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. To protect artists’ royalties, Deezer is currently considering further measures, including removing or demonetizing these AI tracks.

Deezer made its AI music detector commercially available for other streaming services, but it looks like none of them have been interested. Last month, Spotify announced that it was rolling out “Verified” badges on the profiles of artists who comply with the platform’s rules, but it’s still up to artists to disclose if they used AI in song credits.

“No other company has followed our lead yet, so we decided to make it possible for everyone to check if their playlists include synthetic music, no matter which streaming platform they use,” Lanternier said today.

Deezer’s free AI music detector is available on this page, and it supports 27 languages. It works by connecting your account on the streaming service you use, then the tool will scan your playlist for AI-generated tracks. Deezer says that its technology is 99.8% accurate, and it’s been fine-tuned to detect music created with Suna and Udio, two of the most popular AI music generation platforms.
