Google Expands NotebookLM Video Overviews to Over 80 Languages

Google announced today that its Video Overviews feature in NotebookLM is now available in over 80 languages along with improvements to Audio Overviews.

“Video Overviews are now available in 80 languages globally, and we’re significantly upgrading all Audio Overviews to be more comprehensive and in-depth,” Google Labs engineer Sam Dealy writes. “Non-English Audio Overviews will now mirror the rich, detailed experience of the English version, providing a more thorough discussion of your sources in all the supported languages.”

NotebookLM is an AI-powered note-taking and research tool developed by Google Labs. It’s emerged as one of the more impressive and immediately useful AI utilities available today, in part because the summaries, explanations, and answers that it provides about the documents you upload can be generated using podcast-like Audio Overviews and now presentation-like Video Overviews.

Audio Overviews arrived in late 2024, and then Google announced Video Overviews at Google I/O 2025 this past May and delivered it in English only in late July. So today’s update adds two key improvements: Video Overviews and full-length Audio Overviews, both in over 80 languages.

“Whether you’re a student reviewing hours of lecture footage to prepare for a final exam, a researcher sifting through a dense academic presentation for key findings, or a curious mind trying to learn a new skill from a complex DIY tutorial, Video Overviews provides a concise, easy-to-understand video in your preferred language,” Dealy adds. “[And] Audio Overviews now deliver complete, connected discussions that synthesize ideas across your sources, not just quick highlights, so your language choice no longer limits the quality of insight.”
