Amazon has started showing its new AI-generated review summaries to more users. The new review highlights were first spotted on mobile in June, and Amazon says that they should now be visible to more mobile users in the US.
“The new AI-powered feature provides a short paragraph right on the product detail page that highlights the product features and customer sentiment frequently mentioned across written reviews to help customers determine at a glance whether a product is right for them,” Amazon explained.
Amazon’s AI-generated review summaries are currently available across a “broad selection of products”, the company said. Users can also tap on a collection of attributes such as “performance” or “ease of use” to surface reviews that mention these specific characteristics.
In addition to using generative AI technology to produce these review summaries, Amazon continues to use machine learning and human moderators to keep reviews authentic. The company says that its AI-generated review summaries are only based on verified purchases.
We are always testing, learning, and fine-tuning our AI models to improve the customer experience and, based on customer feedback, may expand our review highlights feature to additional categories and customers in the coming months,” Amazon also said today.
