Spotify Comes to the Apple Watch

Spotify is launching a new Apple Watch app today. The company’s music streaming service is already available on a bunch of different platforms, though it was missing an app for the Apple Watch to date.

The new Apple Watch app for Spotify isn’t as powerful as you may have hoped for. Right now, you can use the app to control playback on your phone or other Spotify connect devices. You can get access to your recently played tracks, as well as other collections. You can even add tracks to your library with a single tap using the app while listening to the song.

Right now, the app is fairly limited. For example, you can’t play music right on the device and that can be quite disappointing if you have an Apple Watch with LTE connectivity. It also doesn’t allow for offline playback at the moment, though Spotify says it will come in the future.

As a premium user, all I need from Spotify is to stop showing any recommendations. I know my music and don't want to see 'popular', 'daily mixes', 'charts', 'new releases', 'discover', etc, etc. Just music I selected and added to my playlists, please.
