Apple frequently rolls out minor changes and features to Apple Music without any major announcements or press releases. The company seems to have rolled out a new feature to Apple Music this week, and it’s a pretty nice one.
As you may know, music artists often release different versions of the same album. For example, you could have an explicit version of an album, a non-explicit version, and a deluxe version of the same album, etc.

So far, Apple Music had displayed these different versions of albums as different albums under an artist’s page. And although that’s not a big deal, it kind of clutters the interface and makes it harder to discover all the albums from an artist. Apple has now fixed this problem on Apple Music.
As noticed by Federico Viticci, Apple Music now groups the different versions of an album under the tracklist as “Other Versions”. So when you now go to an artist’s page, you will only see one entry for an album with different versions. And once you go into the album, it will show the other available versions. It’s a really nice feature that Viticci claims was a major part of Beats Music.
Looks like Apple has brought back one of the best features from Beats Music with Apple Music: Other Versions of the same album.

Spotify still lists different versions of an album as different albums on artists pages, so maybe the company will take a page out of Apple’s book and do the same? Once again, it’s not really a big deal, but it would be a nice UX change.
