Apple Self Service Repair Program MacBook

Apple announced today that it was expanding its Self Service Repair program to more devices and new markets. Following a launch in 8 European countries in December 2022, Apple is adding 24 new European countries today including Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland.

Additionally, Self Service Repair is now available for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, as well as all M2-powered Macs: That includes the latest MacBook Air, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, as well as the M2-based 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro released earlier this year (Apple released new versions of these laptops with M3 chips in November).

Apple’s Self Service Repair program allows anyone with some experience repairing electronic devices to get genuine Apple parts and instructions to repair their own devices. This is part of Apple’s commitment to making its devices more durable, and Microsoft is now doing something similar by offering official repair parts for Surface devices.

The expansion of Apple’s Self Service Repair Program also includes a new diagnostic tool that’s currently only available in the US. It’s the same tool that Apple Authorized Service Providers and Independent Repair Providers use to troubleshoot devices, and Apple said that it will become available for users in Europe next year.
