It’s official, Apple’s iPhone 16 event will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10 AM PT at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino. The company has just sent invites to select journalists, and the tagline for the event is “It’s Glowtime”.
As usual, the event will be live-streamed on Apple’s website as well as the company’s YouTube channel. The company is expected to officially reveal the iPhone 16 family, the Apple Watch Series 10, and we may also see new non-Pro AirPods 4 with a USB-C charging case. The company should also announce the release dates for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS11, and macOS Sequoia.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously detailed what to expect from the iPhone 16 lineup. This year, all models should get Apple’s new A18 chip, which will support new Apple Intelligence features coming with iOS 18.1 in October. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max should also get slightly bigger 6.3 and 6.9 inches displays, respectively.
Except for the launch of the bigger and more premium Apple Watch Ultra two years ago, recent updates to the regular Apple Watch family have been pretty minor. This year, however, the Apple Watch Series 10 should introduce a thinner design and larger displays.
Gurman also previously reported that Apple is planning to refresh its entire Mac family with M4 chips, but it remains to be seen if we’ll see new Macs on September 9. One of the first Mac models that’s expected to be refreshed is the Mac Mini, which will finally get a slimmer body that’s similar in size to the Apple TV.
Anyway, Apple usually releases its latest iPhones and Apple Watch models in September, with new Macs following a month (or more) later. The iPhone 16 will undoubtedly be the star of the show, even though new Apple Intelligence features reportedly won’t be ready until October.
