Apple has released iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 yesterday. These updates fix two security vulnerabilities affecting JavaScriptCore and the WebKit engine that powers Apple’s Safari web browser on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

The JavaScriptCore vulnerability may lead to arbitrary code execution when a device is processing maliciously crafted web content. The WebKit vulnerability, however, may allow attackers using the same vector to execute a cross site scripting attack.

The company said yesterday that these two security vulnerabilities may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Macs. If you do have one of these machines, it’s highly recommended to install these updates.

If you’re still running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 on your iPhone or iPad, Apple also released iOS 17.7.2 and iPadOS 17.7.2 yesterday. These two updates include the same security fixes as iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1.

With these security updates now available to the public, Apple can now focus on the upcoming release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, which are expected to be released in the first week of December. Apple has already released several developer betas for these updates, and the main additions include new Apple Intelligence features on eligible devices, new options for the Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, and more.
