iOS 27 will reportedly let iPhone users add custom passes for digital tickets, memberships, and more to the Apple Wallet app. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this new “Create a pass” feature will require users to either scan a QR code or create a pass from scratch, and it will let them choose what appears on the card.
As you may know, Android users can already create custom passes using the Google Wallet app, so it’s probably time for Apple to catch up. The Apple Wallet app currently supports bank cards, keys, and passes from various partners, but it’s still up to developers to integrate their services with the platform.
“The capability is designed for situations where, for example, a gym or concert app provides a QR code for entry but doesn’t support the Wallet app. With the new tool, users can import that code and create their own pass,” Gurman explained.
According to the report, Apple is currently testing three templates for custom passes: Standard, Membership, and Events. The first option will be the default one, but users will be able to choose custom styles, images, and text for their passes.
Gurman previously detailed other new features planned for iOS 27, including a standalone Siri app, a new Siri Camera Mode, and more AI-powered photo editing tools. Besides these long-awaited AI updates, performance is expected to be a big focus for Apple’s next major software updates, which will be revealed during the company’s WWDC introducing keynote on June 8.
