WhatsApp is Adding Multiple Accounts Support

WhatsApp for Android multiple accounts support

Meta announced today that multiple accounts support is coming to WhatsApp. This will allow users to set up two different accounts within the app, for example, one personal account and one work account.

Setting up multiple accounts in WhatsApp will require a phone with dual-SIM or eSIM support, and you’ll need to have two SIMs active on the same phone To add a second account in the app, users will need to open settings, tap on the arrow symbol next to their. name, and then tap on “Add account.”

When setting up multiple accounts in the app, you’ll be able to configure privacy and notification settings for each of them. The app will then let you switch between accounts on the fly without having to log out every time.

This surely going to be a welcome addition for people carrying two phones or using the WhatsApp app for Business in addition to the regular WhatsApp app. Earlier this year, WhatsApp also added the ability to use the same account on multiple phones, which was a top-requested feature.

While you may find that WhatsApp is iterating quite slowly, the team said that should really not use third-party clients to be able to use more accounts on their phones. “Your messages are only secure and private when using the official WhatsApp,” the team emphasized today.
