OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 is Now Available for ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise Users

OpenAI has started expanding access to DALL-E 3, the latest version of its text-to-image model that was officially announced last month. DALL-E3 has been designed to better understand what users want to create from a simple sentence to a detailed paragraph, and it’s now available for ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise subscribers.

“Compared to its predecessor, DALL·E 3 generates images that are not only more visually striking but also crisper in detail. DALL·E 3 can reliably render intricate details, including text, hands, and faces. Additionally, it is particularly good in responding to extensive, detailed prompts, and it can support both landscape and portrait aspect ratios,” the OpenAI team explained.

DALL-E 3 is integrated into the ChatGPT app: Users just need to describe what they want to create and DALL-E 3 will create an original image that can be tweaked with comments. The OpenAI team said that it has implemented new safety systems to prevent its text-to-image model from creating violent or harmful content. “We’ve also taken steps to limit the model’s likelihood of generating content in the style of living artists, images of public figures, and to improve demographic representation across generated images,” the team said.

While using DALL-E 3 via ChatGPT will cost you, the new model is also available for free via Microsoft’s Bing Image Creator. As you probably know, Microsoft is using OpenAI’s technologies to power its own AI offerings, and OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 large language model is also available for free via Microsoft’s Bing Chatbot. ChatGPT users, however, have to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) to use this model.

DALL-E 3 currently competes with other text-to-image models such as Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. The new Google Search Generative Experience, which is currently only available in the US, India, and Japan, also added new image creation capabilities earlier this month.
